Google’s New AI Accelerator: A Golden Ticket for Indonesian Startups to Hit the Global Stage
The artificial intelligence landscape is shifting from simple chatbots to sophisticated, autonomous agents. In a strategic move to fuel this evolution across Southeast Asia, Google Cloud has officially launched the Google for Startups Accelerator: Southeast Asia. This isn't just another networking event; it is a high-octane program specifically designed to help Indonesian founders and their neighbors develop, commercialize, and scale the next generation of 'agentic' AI products.
For Indonesian startups looking to step out of the local pond and into the global ocean, this program represents a massive bridge. It offers a rare combination of cutting-edge infrastructure, deep technical mentorship, and a direct line to some of the world’s most influential venture capitalists.
The Technical War Chest: TPUs, Gemini 3.5, and $350K in Credits
Google isn't holding back on the resources. Startups accepted into the program will gain access to Google Cloud’s full-stack AI technology. This includes high-performance hardware like Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), the Agentic Data Cloud, and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Perhaps most exciting is the inclusion of Google Antigravity, a specialized toolset designed for advanced AI operations.
Beyond hardware, the financial boost is significant. Participants can receive up to US$ 350,000 in cloud credits through the Google for Startups Cloud Program. These credits are earmarked for end-to-end training, fine-tuning, and serving AI agents in a secure, grounded environment. Furthermore, founders get a 'first-mover advantage' through the Trusted Tester and Early Access programs, giving them a head start on building with Gemini 3.5 before these models even hit the general market.
Leveling Up: From Coding to Multi-Agent Orchestration
Innovation doesn't happen in a vacuum. Google is backing the technology with intensive educational components. The program includes technical bootcamps hosted at several key locations, including the Google Developer Space, the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub (GSIH), NIC facilities, and the SIHUB headquarters.
Founders and their engineering teams will dive deep into specialized subjects like agentic coding, AI context engineering, Large Language Model Operations (LLMOps), and the complex world of multi-agent system orchestration. To ensure these solutions are enterprise-ready, startups will participate in product development sprints and architectural reviews alongside technical leads from Google Cloud’s engineering centers and the prestigious Google DeepMind research lab in Singapore.
A Global Ecosystem at Your Fingertips
One of the biggest hurdles for any startup is moving from a great product to a sustainable business. Google is addressing this by providing cross-functional mentorship from teams across Android, Google Ads, Google Pay, and Google Play. This holistic support covers everything from intellectual property management and talent acquisition to growth marketing.
Networking is also a core pillar. The program connects founders with a curated network of venture capitalists, conglomerates, unicorns, and specialist consultants. This culminates in a high-stakes Demo Day and a Startup Summit in Singapore, where participants will pitch their innovations directly to angel investors and major enterprise customers.
Impact and Regional Strategy
Sami Kizilbash, Head of Developer Ecosystems Asia Pacific at Google Cloud, emphasized that the program targets AI startups from the Seed to Series B stages across six countries. The track record is already impressive: since 2018, the accelerator has supported over 200 early-stage startups in Southeast Asia, helping them raise a staggering US$ 6.6 billion in funding and creating more than 11,300 jobs.
In Indonesia, the program is being executed in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi). Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of Digital Ecosystems at Komdigi, noted that strengthening the AI ecosystem is a vital step toward Indonesia’s inclusive and sustainable digital transformation. “As one of Southeast Asia’s largest digital economies, Indonesia continues to drive the adoption of AI solutions that provide real impact in strategic sectors like education, food security, and healthcare,” he stated.

Real-World Success Stories in Indonesia
Veronica Utami, Country Director for Google Indonesia, highlighted that the initiative is already bearing fruit. She pointed to several local examples that have utilized Google’s AI engineering capabilities to solve real problems:
- Analitica: An adaptive AI tutor that has supported over 200,000 students.
- DayaTani: An agronomy AI agent providing real-time guidance to farmers to optimize crop yields.
- Nexmedis: An AI-powered diagnosis and transcription tool that helps doctors provide faster, more accurate care in remote areas.
"Our collaboration with Komdigi will connect more local founders with world-class resources and global tech hubs," Veronica added. "This enables them to build and scale solutions that support national priorities and meet the diverse needs of the Indonesian people."
How to Join
Registration is now officially open. The program is looking for its first cohort of 25 startups to participate in a three-month intensive journey. Best of all, the program is equity-free, meaning founders can access these world-class resources without giving up a stake in their company. The program is scheduled to kick off this August. If you're building the future of AI in Indonesia, the radar of the global investment community is now officially pointed your way.
