In a recent press release, he stated that the goal is to provide Indonesian startups, researchers, and AI practitioners with a space that reflects the nation's pride and competence in the field. For too long, local innovators have had to rely on the generic .ai domain, which technically belongs to Anguilla. This created a bit of a paradox: Indonesia’s AI industry was booming, yet it was operating under another country's digital flag. Now, that is finally changing.

The timing of this launch couldn't be better. According to the Indonesia AI Report 2025, the adoption of AI in the country is skyrocketing. Approximately 45% of business players in Indonesia have already integrated AI into their operations, showing a massive year-on-year growth of 47%. Currently, Korika oversees a community of over 4,000 members, with around 300 officially verified active members. This phase is dedicated to existing .id domain owners. If you already own a .id domain and want to secure the matching .ai.id version to maintain brand consistency, this is your window of opportunity.

Phase 3: The Landrush Period (August 24 – September 24, 2026)

During the Landrush phase, the general public can start applying for strategic or high-value domain names. This phase typically involves premium pricing for those who want to grab short or highly sought-after keywords before they go to the general market.

Phase 4: General Availability (Starting October 5, 2026)

Finally, the doors open to everyone. Registration will be handled through PANDI’s official registrars on a first-come, first-served basis.
